INTRODUCTION
Shree Sat Guru Dev College of Education, was established as a part of the various academic institutes set up by "Swami Devi Dyal Group of Professional Institutions," in the year 2006. The college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and SCERT, Gurgaon and  approved by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). The college has adequate amenities to the teacher- trainees to obtain the degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) of the  Kurukshetra University     and Diploma in Education (D.ed) of the SCERT Gurgaon. The main objective of the  college is to educate and produce dedicated, knowledgeable  and sincere teachers- to -be, to the profession, so that they can guide and lead the fate of young students and in turn the future of the country. The college has a team of devoted and dedicated faculty members and offers services pertaining to educational excursions, sports and other co-curricular activities.

Major strength of the college is its excellence in academic inputs. The university results have demonstrated qualitative performance. Though the college is situated in a rural area, the creativity of students is enhanced and nurtured.

MEET THE PRINCIPAL

Dr. (Mrs.) Sunita Oberoi Malik
Ph.D. (Education), M.Phil., M.Ed.
Director-Principal

Dr. Sunita Oberoi Malik, did her Ph.D. in Education and is working as the director of the Institute. She has very rich experience in the field of teaching, research and administration. She has served in different capacities (Lecturer, Reader & Professor) in the area of teaching and retired from HP University Shimla with an experience of 18 years. She has large number of publications in the Journals of repute. She has been actively involved in research work and has guided 21 students and research scholars at HP University Shimla on various topics of Education. She was also the Vice Chairman for the Indian Red Cross Society Shimla. She was also the member of the Hospital Welfare Section of the State Red Cross Society.

ELIGIBILTY CRITERION

For Science & Mathematics group:
B.Sc./B.Sc.(Hons.) or B.Sc. (Home Science) or B.Sc. (Agriculture) or B.A. with Mathematics or a Master's degree in Science / Home science / Mathematics of Kurukshetra Unviersity or an examination recognized as equivalent there to with at least 45% marks in aggregate with at least one school subject at the graduation level.

For Humanities and Commerce group:
B.A /B.A (Hons.)/ B.Com /M.A /M.Com. examination of Kurukshetra University or an examination recognized as equivalent there to with  at least 45% marks in aggregate with at least one school subject at the graduation level.

Note:  In case a candidate has passed Master's Degree Examination also along with Bachelor's Degree, the percentage of marks obtained in any of the two will be taken into consideration while preparing the merit.

For Science & Mathematics group:
The candidate must have studied any of the following in all three years of graduation course and must offer the same while doing the B.Ed course . Mathematics, Physical sciences (Physics, Chemistry). Life sciences (Botany, Zoology), Home -Science, Computer. Science, Agriculture.

For Humanities & Commerce group:
The candidate must have studied any one of the following subjects in all three years of graduation course and must offer the same during B.Ed.:-
English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Social Sciences,(History.,Economics,Poilitical Science, Geography, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology), Home Science, Music Art, Commerce.


ADMISSION PROCEDURE

The admission to B.Ed.(Regular) Course will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test (CET-B.Ed.)Conducted by M.D.U  / K.U.K.
The admission to D.Ed. (Regular) Course will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test (CET-D.Ed.) Conducted by SCERT, Gurgaon.

PROGRAMME FEE

Fees to be charged for B.Ed. Course and D.Ed. Course shall be as per the State Govt. / Kurukshetra, University /SCERT norms.


COURSE CURRICULUM

There will be 6 Theory Papers, 2 Practical Papers and 2 Skill in Teaching Practical Papers carrying 1000 marks. Besides it, participation in Community Service and Co-curricular activities will be compulsory for all the students.

RULES & GUIDELINES
  1. The Students at all times must conduct themselves in a disciplined manner inside the college and hostel.
  2. Students have to remain in the college between 9:00 A.M and 3:30P.M
  3. Every student shall have to fulfill the prescribed percentage of attendance     ( ie, at list 75%), failing which he /she will not be allowed to sit in the University Examination.
  4. Every student shall have to take part in practice of 5 Micro-Teaching Skills,-2 Mega Teaching, 10 Observation Lessons as per teaching subject.
  5. Any point not covered under these rules shall be decided by the Principal / Chairman then and there.
