INTRODUCTION
Swami Devi Dyal Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology is a part of various academic institutes set up by Swami Devi Dyal Hi-Tech Education Academy from the session 2007-2008. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Govt. of Haryana and Affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Institute has magnificent building with unique architect spread over 2.5 acres of land on Panchkula Yamunanagar National highway (NH-73). A 20 rooms hotel is part of the institute.

AMIT SACHDEVA
Principal

Mr. Amit Sachdeva has done his diploma in Hotel Management from D.H.M.C.T. Panipat in 1992. He has 16 years experience of Hotel Industry in 5 star Deluxe and 5 star Hotels. His administrative experiences in Hotel industry include management execution of Hospitality. He got appreciation letter of loyality by the management of Le Meridian Hotel, New Delhi. He has been awarded outstanding work certificate by Hotel Raj Hans, Suraj Kund for working during the conferences of World Bank and United Nations Conference on Environment and Development.

Admission is made on the basis of Common Entrance Examination conducted by Haryana State Councelling Society, Panchkula, Haryana (25% seats are reserved as NRI / Management seats).

  1. For industry placements our first batch of students is yet to be passed out in the session 2010-11.
  2. All students are sent for Out Door Catering (ODC) in different Hotels for basic training of the industry. This is the vital part of the course curriculum. Here they learn how to interact with guests and get exposure to the industry which gives them confidence in themselves.

Food & Beverage Production Department
To nurture the budding chefs among our students,we have well equipped Food Production lab attached with two Kitchens- BTK (Basic Training Kitchen) & ATK (Advanced Training Kitchen),where students learn to prepare delicacies from india and around the world.All instruments & equipments used are as per the industry norms.

Food & Beverage Service Department
We have 42 covers fully furnished and equipped restaurant attached with training bar to teach and train our students all the skills required by a Food & Beverage personnel .The department deals with serving the prepared food and drinks hygienically in the restaurant and bar following correct manner and etiquettes.

Front Office Department
This is the department with which the guest makes his first contact with the hotel staff. In this department we teach our students  how to handle a guest in the hotel from his coming in till he leaves the hotel. This is the image making department of hotel. This department deals with Reservation, Registration, Cashering, Information, Luggage handling and Guest relations. Our department is fully equipped and designed as a hotel's Front desk where students learn all functions of this department.

- Set up of lab as required in the hotels.

Housekeeping Department
In this department students get training which include interior decoration, upkeep/cleaning of room equipment/linen and laundry operations. The lab has a faculty furnished guest room with all modern equipments/amenities.

- Store stocked/equipped with all daily cleaning requirements and equipments.

Computer Lab: Students get some basic computer knowledge of Ms-office along with specialized hotel software which is a vital part of students training. Technologically advanced computers attached with wi-fi internet connectivity.

Language Lab
To be successful in hotel industry ability to communicate is must. In this lab we make extra efforts to improve communication skills of our students.
