Dr. NC Rao
Principal
 Dr. NC Rao is the Principal of the DentalCollege. He is a man of knowledge and discipline. He is a community Dentist of international repute. He was the member of Dental Council of India for fifteen years. He has served as Principal H.P. Govt. dental College & Hospital, Shimla and Dean faculty of dental sciences, also member of Court, Member of Executive Council, H.P.U. He has spoken at various national and international conferences several times and received honors for the same. Appreciating his achievements in the art and science of dentistry, services to the ailing and social services towards the community he has been awarded fellowship of international college of Dentists (FICD) and fellowship of Pierre Fouchard Academy (FPFA).
He has also been honoured with Bharat Gaurav award in recognition of meritorious services to the community. He has published various articles in national and international journals. The college is bound to grow academically and intellectually under his guidance.

Lt. Gen (Dr.) Paramjit Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM & Bar has Retired as Director General Dental Services Army Dental Corps in January, 2009. At present, He is Director PG Courses, Professor & HOD Deptt. Of Prosthodontics at this Institute.
He is an accomplished Academician, Researcher & Administrator and has more than 38 years of experience behind him. He has numerous publications in National & International journals. He is President of Indian Dental Association National Body.

He is an active member of IDA, IPS Academy of Oral Implantology, Indian Academy of Aesthetic & Cosmetic Dentistry, Fellow of International College of Dentist (FICD), Fellow of India section of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA), Fellow of the American College of Dentists, Associate Member-American Dental Association, Visiting Faculty of the New Jerse, Dental School, New-York (USA), & Member of Board of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
He is Editor of Journal of American Dental Association (Indian Edition) & on the Editorial Board of Journal of American Dental Association (USA).

INTRODUCTION
SwamiDeviDayalHospital and DentalCollege, our alma mater, was established in 2004 with a intake capacity of 100 students. Since its inception the institute has committed itself to provide the best education and inculcate the best of personal qualities among the students. Located on NH-73 in lush green surroundings with the Shivalik hills in its backdrop, the campus provides a peaceful and inspiring environment for the academic as well as overall development of the students. The college is a part of the Swami Devi Dayal Group of Institutes and is located in the main campus. The college has world class infrastructure which is second to none and surpasses not only other colleges of the region but also stands tall when compared to other colleges of national repute and intellectual capital. The college has well equipped departments and laboratories serving the needs of both patients and students. The library is a scholar's paradise with a wide variety of books and journals available to the students round the clock. Apart from the IT library, the campus is connected by a Wi-Fi server enabling wireless internet access at the user's convenience.
HOSPITAL
The Institution is having its own 100 bedded multispeciality hospital,which is providing free medical care(outdoor and indoor) to the rural population of the surrounding areas.This hospital is attached with Swami Devi Dyal hospital and dental college for teaching purposes. The hospital is well equipped with ultra modern/latest equipment and all other facilities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
He/she will attain the age of 17 years or more on 31-12-08. Note:
The age shall be determined as per entry in the Matriculation/Higher Secondary or its equivalent Certificate.
The candidate must have passed both the following examinations:
Senior School Certificate Examination(10+2) of Board of School Education, Haryana or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and biology taken together and must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually in qualifying examination.
The candidate must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of the Competitive Entrance Examination by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the Competitive Examination.
Note:
In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Backward Class the marks obtained be read as 40% instead of 50% (both at qualifying and competitive examinations)
The candidates passing qualifying examination from NationalOpenSchool shall be eligible provided they fulfill the conditions laid down at ii(a)
Diploma in Pharmacy and Dressor's course are not equivalent to 10+2 for the purpose of admission to BDS course according to the rules of MD University and KurukshetraUniversity.
The list of the examinations recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examinations of Board of School Education, Haryana is available in the Academic Branch of the University. The list of the recognized examinations available with the University may be consulted before making admission to the course.
Other Requirements
Candidates must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Medical Board constituted/approved by Principal, SwamiDeviDyalHospital & DentalCollege. The candidature of candidate found medically unfit is liable to be cancelled. The candidates who fail to attend the Medical Examination on the notified date are liable to forfeit the claim for admission and placement in waiting list.
Compartment candidates are not eligible for admission in BDS.No student having compartment in any subject of 10+2 Annual Examination 2008,is eligible to be considered for admission even if such a Student clears/passes the compartment in the subsequent supplementary examination or the admission is made late for one reason or the other.
Note:
The KurukshetraUniversity will be the final authority for deciding whether or not any examination should be deemed as equivalent regarding academic requirements as mentioned above.
ADMISSION METHODOLOGY The admission against 85% seats in BDS will be made on the basis of All India Entrance Test conducted by Association of Self Financing Medical Colleges of Haryana. Rest 15% seats are reserved for NRIs, their children or Wards and will be filled up by the Management on merit of qualifying examination without any entrance test as per guidelines of the State Admission Committee.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The College has an independent administrative block, and multistoried College Block and Hospital Section which accommodates different laboratories, Seminar rooms, Demonstration rooms, departmental libraries, museums, research laboratories, lecture theaters fitted with audiovisual systems. There is a central library having capacity to accommodate sufficient students at a time and facilities like internet, multimedia projections and current national and international journals. The college also has a examination hall for students.
Departments for First Year BDS
Department of General Human Anatomy
Anatomy Department has a spacious Dissection hall with sufficient number of disectory tables, mortuary chambers to store the cadavers. The Department also consists of anatomy museum, histology lab, departmental library and research lab and seminar room.
Department of General Human Physiology
Physiology department includes hematology lab, human physiology lab, departmental library and seminar room.
Department of BioChemistry
Department of Biochemistry has a full fledged lab. It also caters to biochemical investigations of the patients. Department is also having seminar room and Departmental library.
Department of Dental Materials
Department includes a dental material lab, processing lab, plaster room, casting room for training BDS students in Dental Materials. In addition it also has a dental museum, department library and seminar room provided with audiovisual aids.

Department of General Pathology
This department includes labs for General pathology, demonstration rooms, seminar rooms, research labs and also departmental library for pathology and in addition to service labs where patients investigations are carried out.
Department of Microbiology
This department includes labs for Microbiology, Demonstration rooms, Seminar Rooms, Research Labs & Deparmental Library.
Department of General and Dental Pharmacology
This department is having Pharmacology Laboratory for the practicals, a museum, a Departmental Library, Seminar Room and a Research laboratory.
Deparment of Human Oral Anatomy including Embryology and Histology
This department has a laboratory for Oral Anatomy and Histology Practicals. The Department is equipped with sufficient microscopes and slides for students to learn.
Department of Pre-operative Dentistry
A spacious pre-operative lab is provided with sufficient no. of Phantom heads and Micromotors
Deparment of Pre-Prosthodontics
A spacious pre-prostho lab is provided with sufficient burners and micromotors for students to learn pre-clinical work.
