Dr.R.N.Nauhria
Director - Principal

Dr. R.N.Nauhria has joined Swami Devi Dyal Institute of Engineering & Technology as Director Principal from July 1, 2009. Dr. Nauhria is an eminent and well known personality of this region in the field Sof technical education. He has more than 40 years of rich professional experience in imparting and managing technical education, industrial consultancy and research in the fields of manufacturing engineering and management.

Dr. Nauhria obtained his graduate and post graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering from University of Roorkee (IIT Roorkee). He is a doctorate in the faculty of Engineering and Technology from Panjab University Chandigarh. Dr. Nauhria is a lead assessor for Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems. He is a Senior Member of Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) USA and American Society of Quality (ASQ), Life Member, Indian Society of Technical Education and Member of many other Professional Societies. Dr. Nauhria has supervised many Ph.D/ME theses. He is author of book entitled “Management of Systems” and has published more than 30 research papers in international/ national conferences/journals. Dr. Nauhria has presented research paper in International Conferences held in USA. Canada, UK and Australia. The present research interest of Dr.Nauhria includes, Productivity Management, Value Engineering, Total Quality Management and Lean Manufacturing.

Dr. Nauhria has been Member Board of Governors, Member Senate of PEC, Chandigarh and has been Member Board of Studies for ME, BE programs of Mechanical Production/Industrial Engineering of PEC Deemed University, Thapar University & PTU Jalandhar. He has also served as Member Expert Committee, AICTE for approving BE/ME programmes in engineering colleges.

Earlier important assignments of Dr. Nauhria includes Professor and Head, Production Engineering at PEC, Chandigarh (Oct 1994 to July 2008) and Principal, Indo Global College of Engineering Abhipur, Mohali (Aug. 2008-June 2009)

MESSAGE FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL

In addition to agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors, need to make a significant contribution to GDP for Indian Economy to grow at the projected rate of 8%. In the present era of knowledge economy, economic growth of India shall be largely dependent on the availability of the competent human resource. The availability of appropriate and quality industrial/service organizations and infrastructure in the form of power availability, net work of roads, transport and communication system etc. are necessary for the manufacturing and service organizations to function effectively and efficiently.

Swami Devi Dyal Group of Professional Colleges is totally committed to develop competent and employable human resource in the fields of engineering, management, education, law , hotel management and para medical disciplines. The focus is on developing core competency in their respective fields of studies through academic excellence and practical training. The emphasis is on overall personality development and improving communication skills by organizing workshops, seminars, group discussions, extension lectures by experts from the academic/industrial organizations and arranging field trips so as to develop competent professionals capable of accepting real life challenges in their professional careers.

Eligibility Criteria

B.E./ B.Tech: ( Ist Year)

Should be pass in 10+2 examination from recognized Board / University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects:

(a) Chemistry (b) Biotechnology (c) Computer Science (d) Biology

OR

Have passed Diploma Course in Engineering / Technology of three years duration or more from State Board of Technical Education, Haryana or its equivalent Diploma Examination.

B.E./ B.Tech - LEET: 2nd Yr. (3rd Semester) Courses:
The admission to 3 rd semester (2 nd year) of the four year B.Tech. Degree courses is also available in this institute under the lateral entry scheme for the diploma holder candidates through the merit of the entrance test LEET 2008.

Eligibility
A candidate must have passed the diploma in Engg. in the relevant branch with a minimum of 60 % in aggregate OR

A candidate must have passed the degree in Sc.(B.Sc.) with mathematics as a subject and with a minimum of 60 % marks in aggregate

Note: The affiliating University may prescribe compensatory courses to make up deficiencies for the diploma holders, who are admitted through lateral entry.

The affiliating university may exempt B.Sc. Degree holders from Science courses and other relevant courses at the second year level and prescribe compensatory courses to makeup deficiencies.

Post Graduate (MBA / MCA) Courses:
The university offers the following Post Graduate courses to the students with Engineering backgroung:

   1. Masters in Computer Application (MCA)
   2. Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

Eligibility Criteria - MBA
Should have Bachelor's or Post Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto by KU, Kurukshetra, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, and Ch. Devi Lal University, Sirsa, as the case may be with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (minimum pass marks in case or SC/ST candidates)
OR
Pass in Final Examination conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountant of India/Institute of Costs and Works Accountants of India/Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Eligibility Criteria - MCA

Should be a pass in any recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 years' duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level.
Or
Should be a pass in any recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 years' duration in any discipline with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the subjects.
Or
Should be a pass in BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized University

Fee structure for the Courses (Amount in Rs.)

(The students have to pay the revised fee or any other charges, if at anytime it is allowed by the State Fee Committee).
